Staying Healthy on Vacation!
This month we were in Costa Rica on vacation! It was the most amazing, lush, beautiful place I've ever been! Such an incredible opportunity we got - beyond grateful!
This vacation was a bit unlike the others we've taken as far as exercising & feeling amazing (without gaining weight or getting sick after). I've always had the best intentions with wanting to exercise & eat good while we're away BUT I usually can't convince those I'm away with to exercise with me. So, my motivation drops big time. I always manage to be active and I'm very mindful of what I eat BUT it's the lack of an actual workout and the excess of alcohol that usually kill me!
This time I was with a group of like minded, health & wellness Rockstars that got together at 7am to workout - and I'm talking hard core workout, not a walk, not a swim, ore like a bootcamp! I'm sure you're all thinking I must be crazy, BUT let me tell you how incredible I felt and how satisfying it was to accomplish this. We worked out on the wet grass one day, in the pouring rain the next!!! These workouts set me up the rest of the day to feel energetic and fantastic in my body. THE BEST PART - I didn't gain any weight (despite more drinks then normal) AND I didn't get sick (when I tend to stop & slow down on vaca, my body seems to feel like it can take a holiday as well!).
So, my suggestion when you go away...if nobody you're with wants to workout, almost ALL resorts have group classes...JOIN ONE! You won't regret it!
