The Importance of Crosstraining & Resistance Training

Crosstraining...in my opinion, EXTREMELY important!

No matter if you're an athlete, play sports, run, walk, weight lift....your body needs you to crosstrain - you need to do a different activity to actively rest, to strengthen other areas & systems of your body, to balance out your imbalances.  There are so many options to pick:  Run, Walk, Yoga, Pilates, Swimming, Sports, Resistance Training...

Of all of these activities I think it's 100% necessary that everyone does resistance training a few times a week. Do you want to make your current sports / exercise / playing with our kids easier? When you're 60, 70, 90...do you want to be able to get off the floor or a chair without help? Do you want your body to feel amazing and be able to move effortless? Resistance training should be done in a more functional way - meaning train your body in ways you move everyday!  Instead of going through machine after machine, step away and use your own body weight, mimic daily activities, do squats and lunges and climb stairs, get down on the floor and get back up!  Trust me your body will thank you 5, 10, 20 years from now!

Strengthen your body, balance your activity! Have fun and try something new!!!
