Prep & Mindset is Everything!
Wow! 2 weeks ago I decided I would go for a run! I ran for 25min straight! To some of you that may not seem like a big deal but I have always hated running & never wanted to run. I'm a strength training, pilates loving mama... AND after 4 c-sections, severe diastasis recti & a prolapse there was never a thought in my mind that I would go for a run.
After years of "rest", PROPER core training, patience, and determination I have repaired my core significantly and have felt that my body was ready for the "push", for more intensity & different exercise. It was ready for a challenge!
It's so important to stop & be aware of what your body needs. My mind & body were ready...the urge to want to run and then to keep running with EASE was incredible.
2 weeks later I just finished my 6th run!!! I'm actually loving! The mental clarity and focus it gives me right after is a huge bonus as well!
As with any change, it's so important to make appointments with the right people (chiro, massage) to make sure your body is keeping up, recovering, and working at its optimal!
Don't ever let anyone tell you that you can't do something (including yourself).
With a little time, prep, and mindset, you can do it!
