Extra TLC Today!
When you're proactive in your physical, mental, emotional health you sometimes forget what its like to not feel so good or to feel "off". It seems that this week a few of us in my family are in need of some extra TLC and body support! I don't know what I used to do before these little bottles of essential oils came into our lives! It still shocks me how fast and effective and SAFE they are.
Let's start with me littlest guy, Aiden who is 3. He seems to have gotten his mamma's eyes - they tend to pick up everything floating around, water more then the normal person, get blocked, and just feel irritated sometimes. This week he's been complaining about his eyes hurting and I've noticed a bit of a dark circle underneath one with a bit of discharge coming out. My solution is Correct-X - a natural ointment that I apply to the bridge of his nose, and around the eye (never in or too close).
Then we have my 5 year old Jax who gets his ear issues from his dad! In the winter he actually burst his ear drum from so much pressure so when he starts tugging at the ear or saying it hurts - I reach for the oils immediately! There's no wait and see with him. Tea Tree (aka melaleuca) and Lavender diluted rolled around the ear & down the side of the neck with a swipe of Basil eo behind the ear. Then if I can get him to sit still for a bit I use 1 drop of tea tree on a cotton ball and gently place it in the ear and tape it with a bandaid for 20min. The result - he completely forgets which ear was bothering him and we're right back into the pool the next day!
I'm the last one to need extra TLC this week! Monday I began with a brand name workout routine that has left me more sore and achey then I've felt in a VERY long time!!! The Deep Blue essential oils I typically apply before / after workouts wasn't cutting it. Lemongrass, Cypress, Marjoram with fractionated coconut oil = I can actually move!!! DOn't get me wrong, there's still some soreness but I can function as normal!
We all have those days or weeks when our body is screaming or whispering that it needs more attention. The key is if you're listening to it! Self Care is one of the most important things you can do. I encourage you to slow down, pay attention, listen, take care, and the recharge!
