Your Sanity & Energy are Priceless
Let’s talk about being a MOM… It’s a choice you make EVERYDAY to put someone else’s happiness & well being ahead of your own, to teach the the hard lessons, to do the right thing even when you’re not sure what the right thing is…and to FORGIVE YOURSELF over & over again for doing everything wrong!!!!
TRUTH - yes! How many of us Moms out there feel like we’re pouring from an empty cup, feeling like we can’t do anything right, feel totally drained, feel like we could snap at any time, feel stressed, like we’re going crazy, yell or cry on the daily….
I believe that no matter what your circumstance is, how many kids you have, how many things you’re juggling - YOUR ENERGY & MENTAL STATE NEED TO BE PRIORITY! Caring for yourself is an act of survival!
In my last post I shared a few thoughts around the idea of staying as balance as possible - some of my daily habits…. That’s the key - create a few non-negotiable things to take care of you in your daily habits so they become habit, so they’re automatic!
I’ve got a few thoughts & ideas to add around this idea… LET GO OF WHAT YOU CAN’T CONTROL! I know its easier said then done but honestly find a way to shift your thoughts on what is out of your control. It’s all about retraining your brain - some people wear an elastic band around their wrist to literally snap them out of it. Others use music. ME, I personally a blend of oils rolled on my pulse points & I breathe it in! My favs: Bergamot, Frank, Sandalwood, Patchouli….
I would say my #1 idea on taking care of yourself is to BE KIND TO YOURSELF! We’re all just doing our best. Be kind to you, fill your thoughts with things that lift you up & make you feel loved! This is a hard one for all of us - we look for the flaws, we compare ourselves to others…. Wanna start shifting this? Write down on your bedroom or bathroom mirror 5 incredible & positive thoughts or ideas about you - even if you don’t believe them all yet… “I am Beautiful”, “I am filled with energy”, “I have so much to offer the world”, “I am loved”, “I am calm, centred, & grounded”…..
