Let's Squat!

Daily movement and exercise is one of the most important things we can be doing right now for our physical, mental, and emotional health!!!! So I’ve decided to start posting more exercises and workouts that ANYONE can do with little to no equipment!!!! No time like the present to start doing some exercises at home!!!! 

I’ve got 6 basic movements we’ll start with that everyone should be doing!  YOUR GOAL EVERY DAY FOR THE NEXT 6 DAYS - watch, try, and do for a minute (or more)!!!!! By the end of the 6 days you’ll have a fabulous foundation and then get ready for some daily workouts!!!!

First up:  Squats

I bet almost everyone has heard of them. The squat is one of the most important movements to feel and function optimally. We squat everyday! Just sitting down is a squat. The movement pattern of a squat carries over into a lot of everyday work and activities.  Squats don't only work your legs, they are phenomenal for increasing strength in your core and stabilizing your muscles in your entire body.

Squats can be done almost anywhere, you don't need any equipment and they're relatively easy to perform.

A few things to keep in mind:

- Keep your chest open and up while looking straight forward.

- Focus on sticking your butt out and not tipping forward.

- Don't let your knees move past your feet.


Start squatting TODAY!  Too busy? Have kids hanging off you or constantly asking for something?  Add Squats in to your daily tasks:

  • Every time you brush your teeth… start squatting at the same time

  • Stairs … every time you go up the stairs, do 10 squats

  • Fridge … every time you go to the fridge, do 10 squats
