Take Your Power Back!

You get to choose to make yourself miserable or make yourself strong! 

I get it, there are so many unknowns, there are things change in our world hourly!  There is so much that we have no control and no power over.  The overwhelm, the anxiety, the stress, the fear is real.  I’m not going to run down the list of things that are beyond our control.  Instead, lets focus on what we can do.  

And what we can do is take the power back in our own homes, with our health, with who we connect with, with our mental state.  When I think about some other times when I’ve faced some of these feels - the 3 most powerful things I did were:

SMILE.  So what can we control right now and how do we choose to smile?

Smiling isn't an easy thing all the time, but life is too short to stay miserable and down. Smiling is infectious, it’s powerful, smiling releases our “happy” chemical reactions in our body.  These natural chemicals elevate your mood, but they also relax your body.  Smiling is a natural “high”, a natural dose of daily goodness.

GRATITUDE.  Again another thing that most people may not have thought of - so many people go right to the negative and dwell in the space of focussing on the bad.  BUT if you can practise gratitude, write even 1 thing down everyday that you are thankful for, it will shift you.  Gratitude helps people feel more positive and happy which has a trickle down affect on your emotions, your health, your relationships, your current situations….

WAKE UP & KEEP MOVING FORWARD EVERY DAY.  No matter what you’re feeling, get out of bed.  Focus on 1 thing you can do that day to move your life forward.  Focus on 1 thing that you can step into to create a future, to create a positive future, to create change.  You may not be able to see it right now but the challenges we face, the challenges we push through, every time we get up and put 1 foot in front of the other, is 1 step towards a stronger, brave, more incredible, and resilient you.  In those times where you can’t even fathom how you’re going to “get out of it”, just move forward everyday.

We’ve all faced times when we’ve felt powerless, anxious, stressed, when we’ve felt like the world is against us, when we’ve felt like nothing is going the way we want.  We’ve all faced loss and trauma, and all sorts of other things - and I get that it’s not exactly the same thing BUT the way we respond, the way we deal, the way we move forward we can learn if we reflect back.   I truly believe that despite our circumstances and losses and the hand we are dealt in life sometimes, we can be happy, we can have an amazing life, we can find strength.  

So, how do we take our power back? How do we move from a place of feeling incredibly down and powerless and unsure to a place where you shift your thoughts & feelings and keep going.

I felt like I needed to share few “tools” that I use and get my clients to use to support those things.  Because it may sound great and easy on paper BUT when it comes time to actually do it, we get stuck!

Moods & Emotions Shift

Playlist - is there a song or playlist that you can turn up that makes you feel good

Move your body - any movement will be BUT it helps with those “feel good” chemical reactions

Essential Oils - Mint & Citrus essential oils are incredible at shifting the motions you’re feeling!  1 drop of doTERRA wild orange & peppermint in my hands rubbed together, breathe them in, and it shifts!!!  Check out the pic to figure out which ones would most benefit you!

Health

Nourish your Body - food that makes your cells do the “happy dance”.. eat to actually feed your body the nutrients it needs to thrive

Hydrate - drink all the water you can

Move your Body - its a stress reliever, it strengthens you physically & mentally
